Frequent questions
What does Cold Pressed mean?
That the juice has been extracted with the most effective process known to release the maximum possible concentration of nutrients from the fibers of fresh vegetables, achieving an extraordinary flavor and giving it the ability to retain its properties and freshness after several days.
Cold-press involves 2 steps, first the ingredients are ground, this opens the fibers and releases the nutrients, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and chlorophyll from within; Second, a hydraulic press applies tons of pressure to the pulp and extracts every last drop from each fruit and vegetable. The result of the process is a juice with a nutritional concentration much higher than that of a juice extracted conventionally or with a centrifugal extractor.
I am lactose intolerant. Can I drink your juices and milk?
All Juicy Folks juices and milks are dairy free, so go for it!
Why not eat WHOLE vegetables and fruits instead of drinking juices?
The reason for the effectiveness of juices is based on the fact that, by separating the mineral elements and water from the fiber of the vegetables, the liquid obtained is quickly digested and assimilated in a time of between 10 and 15 minutes, which which means an instant banquet of nutrients for the regeneration of our cells.
On the other hand, the process required to separate nutrients from whole fruits and vegetables involves time and effort, even up to hours of work for the digestive system. This process requires a lot of energy and the means to obtain said energy is through food, therefore, a portion of the “solid” food that we eat is diverted from its nutritional objective to be used as fuel to generate this same energy for digest it.
What about fiber?
Fiber is classified according to its solubility, as soluble or insoluble fiber. Both types of fiber are found in different proportions in foods that contain fiber. Fruit juices, vegetables and legumes are good sources of soluble fiber; Whole grains are rich sources of insoluble fiber.
From a nutritional point of view, fiber is not a nutrient, but it performs extremely important physiological functions, such as stimulating bowel movement, for example. Without fiber the body cannot maintain good health.
Drinking juices is an excellent option for the body to obtain the necessary soluble fiber, as long as our diet is complemented with a salad with raw ingredients (that is why all our meal plans incorporate the necessary amount of insoluble fiber!).
What about the juice shops and juice stands on the street, it's fresh juice right?
Common juice stores use centrifugal extractors or blenders, the typical ones that most of us already know, which have the following differences compared to a cold-press extractor:
* The blades rotate at high speed and generate heat when kept running for a long time. A cold press extractor grinds fruits and vegetables at a slower speed and generates less heat. This preserves the enzymes that are extremely sensitive to heat.
* The centrifuging process causes violent exposure to air, so the juice begins to oxidize from the moment it is extracted. Cold Press technology minimizes exposure to air, allowing the juice to be preserved alive for 3 days or 72 hours in the refrigerator.
* They are much less efficient when extracting juice as they tear the fruits and vegetables and separate the juice from the pulp with rotation, the remaining pulp remains wet and nutrients and enzymes are wasted. Cold-press is more efficient and reduces waste.
* A traditional blender leaves all the fiber in the juice, so our body still needs to digest it, limiting rapid direct absorption into the bloodstream.
In summary, the juice extracted with traditional centrifugal equipment is exposed to heat and oxygen, which begins the process of decomposition, oxidation and even destruction of enzymes before entering your glass, which is why a traditional juice must be consumed immediately.
Now, if a conventional juice is the only option available, any juice will always be better than no juice. We recommend you make sure if all the ingredients have been properly disinfected or even better, prepare one at home!
What is the difference between the juice I make at home and Juicy Folks?
We extract the juice with a process called cold-press, with Norwalk and Goodnature X1 equipment. Both are the best options available on the market to carry out this delicate process.
With this equipment and our careful selection of the highest quality ingredients (more than half are organic), JuicyFolks produces the best tasting juices, the highest purity and the highest nutritional concentration possible.
Each juice, milk or shot is carefully made in small batches, so we can ensure excellent quality for each product that leaves our facilities.
Why do their juices separate?
Evidence that you drink a 100% natural product! Without the use of chemical additives, the separation in the juices occurs naturally due to the different densities of each ingredient. Shake it before drinking it.
How should I store juices?
Always keep it refrigerated until ready to consume it. With adequate refrigeration, our juices maintain their nutritional stability and flavor for 72 hours after being cold-pressed.
If you wish, you can freeze it to preserve it for up to approximately 30 days. But first you must remember the following: eliminate a little liquid so that when it freezes and expands it does not come out of the container and once thawed, drink it in the days remaining until its expiration prior to freezing.
For example, if you froze it on day 2, there will only be 1 day left to drink it after thawing it.
Can I drink your juices if I am diabetic?
You should consult with your doctor but the generic answer is NO, due to the natural sugar content of the fruits we use (despite the fact that the maximum proportion of fruit is 40%). Pump It and Forever Young are our options with the least natural sugars.
Can children drink their juices?
Clear! We have a line of juices for children "KIDS", we will only ask you to follow some recommendations since the juices are ULTRA perishable and we want to avoid at all costs that a child drinks spoiled juice.
